        Traditional practices play an important role in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, especially in the developing countries. Diabetes mellitus is fetching a serious threat to mankind health with its grievous. pathophysiological complications. Management of such disorders without any side effects is still a challenge to the medical community. Present study aimed to document the various traditional practices on complications of diabetes mellitus. Primary data were collected from various traditional practitioners of different areas. Secondary data from various Databases, Google Scholar, Medline and Science Direct, were also incorporated in order to provide the scientific base for such practices. Only those medicinal plants which are abundantly available and actions on diabetic complications reported by at least one study were incorporated in the manuscript. Total 45 simple and cost effective traditional formulations have been documented. Among those about 66% are used in diabetic neuropathy, 28.66% in retinopathy, 10.88% in cardiopathy, 26.66% in nephropathy, 48.88% in hepatopathy, 19.7% in skin complications, 17.55% in gangrene or foot ulcer and about 6.44% are used in infertility. The present work indicates that management of diabetic complication by a simple and precise herbal drug is still an intriguing problem. Subsequent amalgamation of such documented traditional practices may leads ayurveda to fruitful generalize and extend to the care of patients suffering from different diabetic complication
